About Beth

Beth Looby has been involved in education for 20 plus years, as a School Psychologist and teacher, working with students from preschool through high school.  She holds a Master’s and Sixth year degree in School Psychology, Master’s Degree in childhood education and Master’s degree in Special education, as well as an annotation in working with individuals with significant disabilities.  For Beth, everyday continues to be an opportunity to learn something!

Mrs. Looby sees children as natural born learners- curious, sociable, skillful, joyful, compassionate and creative by nature. Beth strives to cultivate students’ love of learning and to keep their minds open and flexible, their hearts trusting and generous.  Her passion is to promote social and emotional learning, the process through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.

“There is no separation of mind and emotions; emotions, thinking, and learning are all linked.” — Eric Jensen

Outside of the school day, Beth enjoys running with friends, painting, being involved in creative projects and spending time with her husband and sons.  She is very proud of her greatest creation, her two sons.
