Dear RA Families, As you may already know the Center for Disease Control has decreased the number of feet between students from 6 feet to 3 feet. Renaissance Academy’s Reopening Committee met to review the new guidance, survey families and staff, and make a recommendation to the Board of Trustees to determine if any changes need to be made to our current program configuration. After reviewing all of the information and discussing options the Reopening Committee recommended to the Board of Trustees to maintain our current configuration for the remainder of this school year. Looking forward to the Next School Year The Board of Trustees and the school leadership team is planning for a 2021-2022 school year that will be 5 days a week for all students. The reopening committee will continue to meet to ensure all guidance from the New York State Department of Education, New York State Department of Health, and the Center for Disease Control. As it gets closer to the start of the 2021-2022 school year more information will be shared. The calendar for the 2021-2022 school year is attached to this letter for your information and review. Should you have any questions please feel free to reach out to either of us. Sincerely, Donna Marie Cozine, Ed.D. Cait Loury, Ed.D. Chief Educational Officer Principal

Good Morning RA Families, Below is a great opportunity for parents to voice their ideas and concerns. I recognize it is a bit short notice, however, if you are available tonight to participate I strongly encourage you to do so. Funding has also been secured to pay parents that agree to help shape the proposal between now and April 30th. Please consider joining them TONIGHT to identify needed system changes that impact children in Rochester (see attached flyer). The focus will be on Education, Health, and Human Service Systems. Their approach will be your approach, with a commitment to use these funds to pay parents to be engaged, provide paid training on community organizing, and potentially hire parents to lead change efforts. They are NOT asking you to sit at another table and start over, rather we want to get behind what you are already passionate about and help make connections for greater impact. You will be sitting at a table of parents setting priorities about how to allocate resources in our community – we will be listening to you and supporting you to implement the changes you want to see. To join the meeting and for more information, please contact Steve Hanmer at shanmer@abcinfo.org or Tanya Thurman at tthurman@abcinfo.org. Thank you on behalf of our team, Action for a Better Community, Jordan Health, and Ibero-American Action League

Volunteers Needed
Please disregard the previous information you received earlier today via Facebook, text and email. Below is the actual information that was intended for parents. In partnership with Achievement First, the New York Charter Schools Association will be hosting an immigration info session on April 21 from 6-7 pm to inform our communities of the forms of immigration relief available. An attorney with New Haven Legal Aid will provide an overview of what immigration reliefs are available and answer any questions from the community. This event will be in Spanish & English (other languages can be requested when registering) and is open to the general public.
